oil on artist's board, signed lower right "Antonio Jacobsen 1910 / 31 Palisade Av West Hoboken NY," titled in lower center below ship "USS Vestal Chas. F. Frink Electrician," housed in the original period frame; The Vestal began her service as a collier, serving in both World Wars. She was among those ships hit during the attack at Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941. This painting was found in the attic of Charles F. Frink's grandson, who remembers him serving as an electrician on the Vestal. SS 21.5" x 35.5"; DOA 27.75" x 41.75"
