***AFTER PABLO PICASSO| (1881-1973) Structural prototype model made prior to finalized prototype of sculpture at the Chicago's Dailey Center Plaza, produced by American Bridge Company Inc. a division of U.S. Steel, constructed of Core-tin, 47 3/4'' x 30 7/8'' x 23 3/4'', weight approximate 116 lbs.; Provenance - This piece originally comes from the Mildred Gigliani estate who's husband worked for American Bridge Company in Gary, Indiana in the early 1960's to mid 1970''. American Bridge was responsible for manufacturing the components for the downtown Picasso sculpture. This piece was given to Mr. Gigliani as a gift for his efforts in helping produce the finalized project. It is believed approximately 10-15 of these pre-prototype sculptures were produced to test for structural integrity, only two of these models were accepted by Picasso for review. Location of other pre-prototypes are unknown. The sculpture is unsigned. CONDITION: Very good, unexposed to elements.
