The small, round lidded box heavily chased and ornamented with facing gryphons, foliage, swags, women, and a cherub, the monogrammed escutcheon on lid and lid proper with gadroon edges, one side stamped with London sterling marks, a Victoria head duty mark, an 1885 "K" date letter, and the maker's mark of William Comyns, registered 1859. 2.5" H X 2.75" diameter. Weight approximately 5 troy ounces. Monogram heavily worn and indecipherable.
