Lunar pendants were worn as pectorals as well as suspended from belts, other clothing and horse harness. This example is wide and fashioned as the crescent moon with its tips supporting a trefoil, a common motif. The edge is raised and the field decorated in elongated curvilinear geometry specific to Vikings.
