Chinese Cobalt Blue Porcelain Vase with baluster shape body, squared to shoulder, and straight rectangular neck. The shaped white cartouches on either side depict villages. The white scenes are defined by a brown glaze that stays only in the depressions. Base with impressed seal of Wang Bing Rong.
Wang Bing Rong (1840-1900): A notable potter and porcelain carver, successfully transformed the technique of carved bamboo to porcelains and specializing in porcelain with carved decoration, some like ivory carvings. Active in Tongzhi to Guangxu period (1862-1908).
