Planchon Bronze Royal Palace Mantle Clock. 2 part dial with 6.5 in. silvered minute ring with black incised 5 minute numbers, sweep arrow minute hand and centered with a 6 to 6 hour dial measuring 4 in. wide with hand painted metal disc of sun and moon hour indicators; brass square plate movement signed “Planchon Pailas Royal, 4114” and “Vincenti & Cie” has an half hour count wheel strike on a coiled gong. The exceptional bronze case has an architectural form with engraved garden scene on the front, royal figure on the left and sunburst on the right, mounted plaques read “Planchon Pailas Royal” and “1553”; case features filigree decorated corner columns, pierced gallery top with turned spire corner finials and pierced decorated upper dome having a nest of 2 faux bells, scaled roof and spire finial.
