Francis Bruguiere was an American photographer born in San Francisco, CA. Bruguiere became friends with photographer and modern art promoter Alfred Stieglitz, who accepted him as a member of Photo-secession. The works of Stieglitz and the fellow Photo-secessionists inspired Bruguiere to create the pictorialist images of San Francisco after the earthquake that he is famous for today.
