Lot 0005
The New London Northern was a Cenrtal Vermont predecessor that operated in Connecticut and Massachusetts. I think this is a Railroad Signal Lamp & Lantern frame. It has a slightly pointed brass top and smaller NLN RR stamped on the lid. It's a single piece frame so it uses a pinch-pot. The frame has never been cleaned. It has pitting but it seems solid and should improve greatly with a cleaning.

The globe is a nice 5 7/8" tall cast tear-drop with NLN RR cast in a panel in very fancy lettering. This globe size is similar to a New England style barrel globe. There is some age browning to the base of the globe.

This is not a common lantern. We sold a similar one a couple of auctions ago.
