A colorful early 20th century Uzbek flat weave, once part of a complete double sided donkey bag ('khorjin'), from north Afghanistan in the Kunduz region. The weaving technique is a complex one and the handle is very durable, can withstand wear or use easily. The colors are undoubtedly derived from synthetic dyes but there is no sign of dye run or fading. The blue may very well be indigo.The condition is good with no holes or repairs. SIZE 2'6" x 2'8"
