Paul Jacoulet (1902-1960) was a Parisian artist who spent most of his life in Japan. He was one of the few Western artists to master woodblock printing and be recognized in Japan.
Shin-hanga was an art movement in early 20th-century Japan, during the Taisho and Showa periods, that revitalized traditional ukiyo-e art rooted in the Edo and Meiji periods.
