Pre-Columbian, West Mexico, Michoacan, ca. 100 BCE. A figure strapped to a bed with twin hoops, one at each end. Saturated red slip provides splashes of color to the hoops, the earrings, and the strap across the chest of the figure. This figure provides wonderful signs of the process used to create it. You can clearly see the fingerprints of the hand that shaped this piece, and the careful way that strips of clay were applied to the pallet. Size: 3" L x 1.6" W x 1.9" H (7.6 cm x 4.1 cm x 4.8 cm)
