1836 Samuel Morse (1791- 1872) Artist and American Inventor of the Telegraph. Early bold Signature from University of NY about recieving funds to fix a stove in his University quarters. Morse founded the National Academy of Design in 1826. In 1832 Mose became Professor of painting and sculpture at NYU. He invented the electro-magnetic recording telegraph, invented the sending and recieving apparatus and the Morse code. It was in this same university room that he invented this and completed it before 1836. One chip in the left margin not affectiong the writing otherwise near fine. Rare example.
