Lincoln ) related to the case Mark Hamilton vs. Jesse Cooper, wherein Lincoln agrees to "enter myself security for costs in this cause, and promise to pay all costs which may accrue to the opposite party in this action, or to any of the officers of this court; and in default of payment by the plaintiff of any costs ordered or adjudged to be paid by the plaintiff hereby agree and stipulate that execution may issue against my property for any costs taxed against the said plaintiff", one page, yellowing, horizontal fold with some splitting to right side , Southern District of Illinois, 17 May 17, 1858, mounted with a period portrait engraving, framed and glazed, overall size of 43 x 65cm.
