Lot 0222
Necklace made from pine nuts from the 18th - 19th century. This necklace is carved from various nuts or fruit pits. The pine nuts are carved with a poem and two are carved with scenes. The large nut that serves as a toggle is carved into the form of a man. The necklace consists of 76 beads all together.

It is 28 inches long and has a 1 3/4 inch long toggle. The beads range from 1/4 of an inch in diameter to 1 inch in diameter. All measurements are approximate.

Provenance: From a Boston estate. Collected in Hong Kong in the 1950's and 1960's.
