Carley Elizabeth Blim was born at Saint Mary’s Hospital in Reno, Nevada on November 26, 2006, to Charles A. Blim Jr. and Sherry L. Blim. She would stare for hours at the paintings hanging in her family home as she held her bottles of formula. As soon as she could sit up and start holding writing instruments, her very distinctive art style was found. A few years ago, she started sitting down with her father to paint her versions of landscapes in watercolors. In 2012, she entered the Churchill County Fair in Fallon, Nevada at just 5 years old and won the overall youth exhibition with her entry Burning Sky, which received high praise from the juror. And then a couple weeks later, she entered the Lyon County Fair in Yerington, Nevada winning three blue ribbons and one red. Carley is a protégé of listed Nevada artists Kathy Colegrove and Lee Netzel. She has worked in several mediums, but her first love is to paint abstracts using watercolors.
