Venetian Mahogany Settee, 20th century, the tall domed and padded back within a molded frame, joined by like outstretched arms to the padded seat, raised on molded cabriole legs ending in scrolled toes, h. 43-1/2", w. 72", d. 23-1/2".
In overall good condition. The wood surfaces exhibit normal minor rubbing, shrinkage and indications of age and use. The base section is very tight and solid. There is no visible evidence of past breaks or repairs to the legs. The back section exhibits some looseness when shaken fore and aft, more notable on one end than the other. That end exhibits a screw hole, now without a screw, that appears to have previously made it tighter. There are a couple spots of glue residue at the center of the back of the crest, presumably from "bumper" type pads. The upholstery is in functional condition, with some wear.
