French Louis XIII Style Carved Oak Upholstered Armchair, c. 1880, with a leaf and tendril crest over an upholstered back flanked by pierced grape and leaf border, to upholstered arms and seat, on turned and block legs joined by rope twist stretchers now in faux leather upholstery with brass tack decoration, H.- 50 1/2 in., W.- 26 3/4 in., D.- 29 in.
Condition consistent with age. Chipping along the back of the back legs. Light wear on the arms and front stretcher. Threads visible along the top of the back cushion. Separation between the armrest and back end of the right arm. A striking example.
