French Louis XV Style Armoire, early 19th c., the arched stepped canted corner crown over arched double two panel doors with long steel escutcheons and long steel fiche hinges, flanking a central reeded pilaster, over a long bottom drawer with a long steel escutcheon and pulls, on scrolled legs joined by an arched skirt, H.- 102 in., W.- 68 in., D.- 27 in.
Condition consistent with age and use. Light rust on hinges. Slight separation between boards in top sections of doors. Apparent repair to upper right corner of left door. Approximate 12 inch vertical cracks in top sections of doors. Two 10 inch vertical hairline cracks in bottom of right door. Several 6 inch gouges and smaller dents in the right door. Scattered holes from wood beetle exposure, especially on the sides. Apparent 6 inch repair to the trim on the left side of the left door. A 3 inch crack in the upper right corner of the right door. Two triangular pieces lacking from carving at the tops of the columns. A 1 inch piece lacking from the right corner of the crown. A 2 inch sliver lacking from the left corner of the crown. A 6 inch gouge on the left side. A 2 inch piece of carving lacking on the front right foot. Vertical cracks through the pegs along the left side of the drawer. Heavy wear and chipping on the left side of the bottom edge. A charming piece.
