"Berosi" book on the writings by Berosus published in Lyon 1554. It is Vol. 1 of 2, which it is complete in itself for the histories of Babylon, Assyria, Etruria, Etc. and has other fragments remaining from Berosus's works. Also has a book label near front belonging to "T. Campbell A.B. 1756" This rare and very early item is nicely bound in the original 16th century calf, gilt tooled motif on both covers, rebacked and with part of original spine remounted. Berosus, a Chaldean historian, astronomer and astrologer usually considered to have llived in the time of Alexander the Great, invented the inter alia, likely the first sundial on record.
