Gaston Paris was a French photographer most active during the 1930's. He was a leading figure of the weekly magazine Vu, founded in 1928 by Lucien Vogel. In Vu, his photos were displayed next to other distinguished names in photography, such as Laure Albin-Guillot, Germaine Krull, André Kertész, Martin Munkacsi, Man Ray and Robert Capa. In addition to his portraits of artists and celebrities, Paris also created strange photographic series inspired by surrealism.
