  • Condition
The covers (app. 4.75" x 7"), leather spines and outside corners, marbled boards, applied gilt over black labels, are securely attached and straight, but with most labels missing, and with several of the attached labels partly loose (and subject to separation). Most volumes have shallow edge wear, including bumped outside corners, but there are no deep tears. Most covers are scuffed, but, again, there are no prominent stains. The insides are in good condition, with the bindings secure. Each volume has a full page frontispiece illustration, all of which are present and in good condition, with the tissue guards in place. These are the only illustrations. There are no stamps or other attachments. I've found no writing. A number of page edges are stained. There are few stains to the page faces, and no stains are prominent.
