First edition: The Posthumous Papers of the Pickwick Club by Charles Dickens. Published 1837 by Chapman and Hall. (Full pebbled leather). 5.5 x 8.5 The following first edition points are noted: Errata present. p9/footnote present. p10/mark between “r” and “u” of “rum” at bottom of page. p303/second “3” present in page no. p341/line 1-“inbelicate”; line 5-“inscriptino.” p342/line 5-“S VELLER” uncorrected. p375/header imprinted “PICWKICK.” No captions on illustrations, only page numbers. OTHER: p26/Header: “POSTHUMOUS PAPERS, &c. Fifty lines to a page (reduced to 49 in later editions). WELLER on illustrated title page. Forty-three illustrations (including frontispiece and first title page). Combination leather and pebbled leather cover. Book was published in the past at The Old Curiosity Shop in London, immortalized by Dickens (still retains loose store label.)
