Carved wooden face mask with long curved protruding appendages from the face and a well worn surface patina suggesting some handling and wear. The Bete live in central Ivory Coast. Their western neighbors are the Guéré (or Ngere) and Wé, with whom they have in common some stylistic features of their art. The mask measures 12 x 6.5 inches. A metal display stand is also included.

Overall well worn, fair condition. Repair to one of the appendages.
