Ancient Greece, Athens, ca. 6th century BCE. A petite pottery oil vessel of a graceful form comprised of a bulbous body, narrow neck, flared rim, and a strap handle joining neck to shoulder - all on a raised ring base. The walls are beautifully glazed in black with a simple guichoie band painted around the shoulder. A special example from ancient Athens! Size: 1.875" W x 3.625" H (4.8 cm x 9.2 cm)
