Paper mache shoulderhead of lady with heart-shaped face, slender throat, sculpted black hair in elaborate coiffure with exaggerated side curls and fancily-knotted topknot, painted blue decoration at center; blue painted eyes, eyeliner, tapered brows, closed mouth, slender kid body with carved wooden lower limbs, wears fitted cotton print dress, petticoats and pantaloons, black slippers; also has original jacket in worn condition, plus original petticoat, shoes and stockings, and pink bead necklace. Commentary: Circa 1830 superb coiffure and rare size, original finish with craquerlure overall face and shoulders, reinforced with glue at back shoulderplate, beautifully costumed.
