From an old Bristol paleontological collection, acquired 1950s-1960s. Mastodons are species of extinct Mammut, distantly related to elephants, that lived during the late Miocene or late Pliocene Period up to their extinction at the end of the Pleistocene 10,000 to 11,000 years ago. [No Reserve]
