Description
Propaganda poster - German Recruitment Poster for the Garde Kavalerie Schutzen Korps (Guard Cavalry Division). The Guard Cavalry Division was a large size formation of the Prussian Army , formed in the spring of 1918. Following the November Revolution, a large number of freikorps were created from this formation. At the end of World War I, the forces of the German Empire had mostly split up, the men making their way home individually or in small groups. Many of them joined the Freikorps (Free Corps), a collection of volunteer paramilitary units that were involved in suppressing the German Revolution and border clashes between 1918 and 1923.Country: Germany. Year: 1919. Artist: J.V. Kulas. Size (cm): 92.5x66.5.. Good condition, small tears and creases on margins, small tape protections on corners.
