  • Date: 1872

  • Size: 7 1/2'' tall 12'' across the birds
  • Weight: The tazza is approximately 31 troy ounces.

    Gorham Manufacturing Company"s Japanese Aesthetic Movement silver. Made in sterling silver and date marked by Gorham with the letter "E" which represents the year 1872. The "handles" to the fruit stand are full figural bee catcher birds alight on a branch. Each bird is approximately four and a half inches long from head to tip of the tail. Around the "bowl" of this tazza/fruit stand is a dye rolled border of an Asian landscape, the pattern does repeat. Just above the feet of the stand is another dye rolled border with Japanese words of good luck and fortune. The stand has four legs and each leg has a different Japanese motif on it, a flower, a fan a bird and an insect (butterfly).
