A highly decorated Shamshir (sabre) and scabbard in a blue velvet presentation case. Blade and scabbard together measure 30-1/2 inches in total length. The Shamshir measures 37 inches in length with a 1-1/2 inch wide blade. Hilt and scabbard are highly decorated with patterns of gold colored braided wire, silver colored panels and inset blue cut glass stones and turqoise colored half beads. The blade has a short clip point and an engraved gemoetric pattern panel at the guard folowed by Persian scriot extending approximately half the length of the right-hand face (obverse). The blade is in good to very good condition and has never been sharpened. This is a highly decorative display sword with a set reserve price. This lot has a reserve.
