Lot 5007
One paper and ten vellum documents from Castle Douglas, a town in Dumfries and Galloway, Scotland, dating from 1634 to 1776. Includes land deeds and a charter; seven of the documents are in Latin, four in English. The most notable document is an Instrument of Sasin with King George III's seal (dated 1776). Two come with tassles and another with a wax seal; several of the documents include intriguing embellishments along the borders. The documents range in legibility and condition, with some water marks, a few wax stains, and small holes. Overall, they are in very good condition for such rare, historical documents.
