Antique c. 1895-1905 Ansonia La Roda Porcelain Mantle Clock - All original. The Ornate 3" Gilt Edged Ansonia Porcelain Face is all original and is in very good condition retaining the original beveled glass on the door. Beautiful gilded porcelain case with Chrysanthemums and Forget-me-nots. Measures 7.50"x4.50"x11". Weight is 6 pds 13 oz. Missing the key, the clock does run, but we have not tested for timekeeping. PROVENANCE: A Charleston SC Private Estate. Royal Bonn is the 19th and 20th Century Trade Name used by the renowned porcelain craftsman Franz Anton Mehlem, who produced pottery in Bonn, Germany from 1836 to 1931. Fine Porcelain and Earthenware were manufactured in the factory. In 1921, the firm was purchased by Villeroy & Boch and closed in 1931. The signature crest insignia features a crown, which is prominently displayed on the back of its clock cases imported by the Ansonia Clock Company.
