Solid Body Electric Guitar GIBSON LES PAUL Studio 1995
Item Details
Description

Details: This Gibson Les Paul Studio solid body electric guitar was made at the Nashville TN USA Plant on April 19, 1995.

This model features a carved maple top on mahogany body with glossy black finish, two gold-plated humbuckers and hardware, rosewood fingerboard with trapezoid inlays, four control knobs, and original Gibson Deluxe tuning machines.

The Gibson Les Paul is a solid body electric guitar that was first sold by the Gibson Guitar Corporation in 1952. The Les Paul was designed by Gibson president Ted McCarty, factory manager John Huis and their team, along with guitarist/inventor Les Paul. The Les Paul was originally offered with a gold finish and two P-90 pickups. In 1957, humbucking pickups were added, along with sunburst finishes in 1958. The sunburst 1958–1960 Les Paul – today one of the best-known electric guitar types in the world – was considered a failure, with low production and sales. For 1961, the Les Paul was redesigned into what is now known as the Gibson SG. This design continued until 1963 but continued as a separate guitar, when the traditional single cutaway, carved top bodystyle was re-introduced. In 1983, Gibson introduced the Studio model. The Studio was designed to attract guitar players who desired traditional Les Paul sound without having to pay for cosmetic features of upscale models. In order to produce a lower-cost Les Paul, features such as body binding, neck binding, and headstock inlays were not available. The name "Studio" comes from the idea that this model would be sonically indistinguishable from a Les Paul Standard or Custom in the recording studio, and that the flashier guitars would be reserved for stage use.

The total length is approx. 39" and the speaking length is approx. 24 5/8".

It is presented in a contemporary hardshell case.

Please attend our live sale to inspect this classic instrument in person.
Condition / Notes: This guitar is intact shows nicely with typical signs of age and careful use. The electronics have not been tested. The instrument plays well and would benefit from a setup including minor action adjustment.
