English (unknown makers), early 19th century. A group of four early blue and white earthenware dishes comprising a circular plate in the "Pagoda Park" aka "Bear up a Pole" pattern (diameter 10"); a circular plate in the "Malayan Long House" aka "Malayan Long Hut" pattern (diameter 9.87"); an oval dish/underplate in the "Queen of Sheba" aka "Chinese Procession", "Indian Procession" (11.25" x 8.25"); and a oval dish/underplate in the "Hexagonal Dome" pattern. Apparently none of the pieces marked. Provenance: Property from the Private Collection of Mrs. Nancy Rutledge Pogue, Blufton, South Carolina (wife of Mr. William Pogue, who served as an heir to the H. & S. Pogue Company department store chain based in Cincinnati, Ohio).
