A Yixing teapot with on the cover a knob in the shape of a lion with cub and a spinning ball. China, 19th century. H. 15 cm. Provenance: bought in Hong Kong, 1978. Part of a Dutch private collection of Chinese porcelain (lot 1 - 77), acquired in the period 1970-1980, in Hong Kong and China, as well as with ChristieÕs and SothebyÕs. Several pieces were exhibited and on loan to the Leiden Museum of Ethnology during the period 1977-1995. The former curator Mr. Gan Tjiang-Tek included several of these objects for his lectures.
