Description
Chinese porcelain potted in a baluster shape, globular body gently tapered toward splayed hexagonal foot base, tall neck leading to flared Quadre-foil lobed rim, two scrolls flanked to the neck created ears handles. The main body decorated with hand painting in cobalt-blue of front facing dragon amidst fumes and flames. Interspersed with many auspicious motifs and geometrical patterns.
Mark on base, a six blue seal script -ZhuanShu- Characters reign mark, QianLong Reign Period of Great Qing.
Provenance: Consigned by the heir of M Nye, these items have records that were purchased from the estate of "The Goods & Chattels of Martha Mace". Located in New Sewickley Township, Pennsylvania; these records are dated Oct 1866.
Dimension: 13-1/2" H x 8-1/2" Diam.
Mark on base, a six blue seal script -ZhuanShu- Characters reign mark, QianLong Reign Period of Great Qing.
