Chinese porcelain potted with rounded cavetto gently rising the steep and slightly arched sides leading to slightly flaring rim, raised upon footed ring base, the dome lid with concaved ring top. The exterior delicately hand painted with famille rose ducks within water foliate and blooms. Bordered with cobalt blue key fret ribbon and floral motifs, with numerous fine gilt over glazed rings.
Mark on base, six blue script -KaiShu- characters reign mark, XianFeng Reign Period of Great Qing.
Provenance: Consigned by the heir of M Nye, these items have records that were purchased from the estate of "The Goods & Chattels of Martha Mace". Located in New Sewickley Township, Pennsylvania; these records are dated Oct 1866.
