Description
Very fine 19th C. Chinese famille rose porcelain Tea pot, potted in ovoid body, tapered gracefully to gilt banded rim supported the domed lid, crowned with simply gilt bud finial. Flanked with curved spout and looped handle. The main decoration shows red Shou character medallion surrounded within pale-yellow ruyi bands, interspersed by dense of famille rose floral tendrils against pale-turquoise-green underglazed ground. Banded with repeating ruyi under the rim and upturning lappets on foot. The spot and handle remain plain white, with red stylized floral painted on the spout.

Mark on base, an iron-red script -KaiShu- characters mark.


Dimension: 8-1/2" H x 6"Diam.
