Description
Antique 4' German Stein, with removable lid. Embossed mark "Germany" making it older than the 1940's. This marking would place it circa 1900 - 1920's.
This stein is made pottery, the same material that regular stein are made of. Other stein of this nature are made of chalk. Probably made by Gerz in grenhausen.
Cold painted, not glazed. Excellent condition with no breakage. There is minimal wear to the glaze, and the harp is missing a string.
On stien is the legend; Die Alten Deutschen Germanen-Trauung; Sie Tranken Noch Eins Ehe.Translation reads: "The old German Teutons wedding, you drank once before"
