Damaged Engraved Portrait by R. Andrews, and inscribed by the artist to D.A. Goddard, Esq. Pasted to the lower left corner is a J.Q. Adams signed free frank envelope addressed to E. H. Burritt, Esq. of New Britain, Connecticut, by the Sixth President, "Covering his oration on the life and Character of Lafayette, del'd. Jan 27th, 1835", also browned, lower left corner chipped, signature clear. Elijah Hinsdale Burritt (1794-1838), was a mathematician and astronomer.
