Written over 60 years earlier, but not published until this edition. From the publisher‘s website: "In 1933, a year before he died, MacKenzie put many of his thoughts about golf and golf course architecture in a manuscript that he hoped would be published. After his death, the manuscript was misplaced and forgotten. In the mid-1990s, the 62-year-old manuscript was found and finally published. In tribute to the centuries old golf course that he so dearly loved, it‘s titled The Spirit of St. Andrews." D&J M3010.
