Details: 17Pcs This lot consists of 6 brass name stencil plates and 9 number stencil plates, along with one antique leather folding wallet, unmarked, found in a shadow box displayed with one of the name stencils. c. Civil War era.
3 of the stencils are for a "Dr. C.L. Spencer", and were found in a small leather pocket with another name stencil reading "O.C. LEE" and two complete sets of number stencils. The stencil displayed with the wallet reads "A.B. COMEY Co. F. 5th, Mass. R't.". The wallet is small, supple, and unfolds to reveal accordion pockets. An inner leather strap keeps the bottom accordion closed when desired. Metal plate on the back strap tab.
The last stencil read and "Samuel Sherman Co. F. 5th N.Y.S.V.". and was fond in a shadow box. The stencil plates and small leather case measure up to 1.5" x 2.75". Wallet measures 2.5" x 4.25" folded.
