[50 pp.] Illustrated throughout in color. (4to) original textured brown cloth with illustrated cover label. First Edition.
1928-29 Paramount campaign book, sent to theater owners to encourage them to show Paramount movies. The volume consists of many brightly illustrated one-page and half-page spreads on Paramount's upcoming attractions. Some of the movies and stars advertised include: Wings (with sound!), The Wedding March (with Erich von Stroheim), four different movies with Clara Bow, Dirigible (directed by William Wellman), The Canary Murder Case (with William Powell), The First Kiss (with Gary Cooper), among many others. Also included is a small "Stars of Tomorrow" section with an image of Louise Brooks. Some of the films listed were apparently never completed. This copy with occasional pencil notations throughout, apparently made by someone in the industry, as some film titles are crossed out and replaced with others, and actors' names are added to certain films. Some doodles in the margins as well. Unique copy of a scarce volume. No auction records located, and not found in OCLC.
