Carl Brennir Oil on Canvas, Country Landscape with Farmer. Signed lower right. In original period ornate heavily carved gilt wood frame. There is a tear to canvas center, easily restored. In frame measures 31"x24"x3". Weight 10 pds. PROVENANCE: A Charleston SC Private Estate. Carl Brennir was a Nottingham based artist (c.1887) noted for his landscape paintings in oils. Elected to the Nottingham Society of Artists in 1908. Taught privately in Nottingham, one of his students was Campbell Archibald Mellon. Exhibited Birmingham RSA, Manchester City Art Gallery, Nottingham Museum & Art Gallery and The Royal Academy.
