A bronze buckle comprising: D-shaped plaque with lateral spurs and rear lobe, motif of a standing bird with frond and curled stem, pellets in the field, three pierced lugs to the underside; heart-shaped bow with slot to the forward edge; rectangular-section tongue with step to the rear. 24 grams, 60mm (2 1/2"). Property of an Essex, UK collector; acquired London art market, 1960s-1980s. [No Reserve]
