Q-012 Lot of items relating to Charles E. Smith, Jr. who served in the U.S. Army during WWI and in the Navy during WWII. Includes: (1) WWI "dog tags", pay record book and three 1917 addressed envelopes. (2) Gold "EXPERT RIFLEMAN" Badge. (3) State of New York WWI "FAITHFUL SERVICE" Medal. Numbered "1012". (4) City of Albany, NY "PATRIOTIC SERVICE" Medal for WWI. Named to Smith. Original box. (5) U.S. "VICTORY" Medal with bars "ST. MIHIEL" / "MEUSE - ARGONNE" / "DEFENSIVE SECTOR". With the original box and mailing label. (6) Copy of an AEF letter commending the First Anti-Aircraft Machine Gun Battalion, which Smith was a part of, for their WWI service. (7) WWI steel pocket mirror. (8) Two photos of Smith in uniform. (9) Souvenir WWI German "dog tag". Named to a Army Replacement Command. (10) "U.S.S. HOUSATONIC" passenger card. With Smith's notation of his sailing (home) on 24 April 1919. (11) 1942 U.S. Navy Reserves instructions for Smith to report for inactive duty. (12) Pocket wallet listing Smith's membership in both the "ANCIENT ORDER OF THE DEEP" and the "DOMAIN OF THE GOLDEN DRAGON". (13) USNR "dog tags". (14) Photo of Smith in fatigues.
