A very traditional landscape scene of mountains and countryside by Gihachiro Okuyama (1907-1981). Gihachiro was an active participant in the Shin-hanga art movement and made many landscape prints throughout his career.
Gihachiro Okuyama (1907-1981) was a Japanese artist who was active in both the sosaku hanga movement, which was the avant-garde movement of the 1950s-1970s, and the shin hanga movement, showing a mixture of traditional Japanese and modern western elements. He worked and exhibited with other artists in different and changing associations.
