Every city need a newspaper so the Birnbergs built the Illustrated Smallsea News.
Its name is based on the Illustrated London News , a weekly news publication, which came to prominence in the Victorian era and lasted until the late 20th century. Smallsea's building is a one of a kind. There are three floors: the public floor with space for placing advertisements and personal notices and a reading area for the public to peruse the current issue; the second floor print room which contained a wonderful printing press ( and many additional printing implements) from Wright Guide Miniatures and office for the editor. The top floor has space for the graphic artist/reporter and a typist. All of the dolls are custom made and most of the decorative accessories are artists' made.
This building was featured in Dolls House and Miniature Magazine in the Dec '10
and Oct '14 issues
