Great Folk Art Noah's Ark circa 1850. This GREAT German Ark from circa 1850 is very unusual in that it looks like the biblical Noah's Ark of old prints and paintings. It rests on a stand with carved fishes on the frame of the stand. The figures are top-quality and retain their original colors. They comprise 7 members of Noah's Family, 8 pairs of animals, 17 single animals, 18 pairs of birds, 10 single birds a total of 86 figures. There are some small repairs but overall the condition is excellent. "Dimensions: The Ark is 15.5"" long and 10"" high when it is on the stand. The smallest animals are about 1.5"" long and the larger animals are up to 4.5"" long."
