Clipped signature of General John E. Wool. (1784-1869) General Wool was an officer in the United States in the War of 1812, Mexican-American war and the Civil War. He was in the U.S. Army from 1812-1863. In 1863 President Lincoln sent an order to Wool retiring him from service after 51 years in the Army. At the age of 79 he was the oldest general officer to be in command during the war. Nicely matted with a print of the General. Includes COA. Very Good-Excellent
