A Civil War hand-written journal. Titled on the first page, "My Soldier Life From 19th April 1861 to 15th November '64, Embracing a period of Three years, four months, and twenty-four days." Possibly the recollections of Samuel Hupp of the Ohio Volunteer Infantry. The first entry is dated Saturday, April 19, 1861, additional entries through May 1861, followed by blank pages; entries continue on Tuesday, November 14, 1864. Early entries mention General Wolcott; later General Sherman, February 14, 1865, Sandy Run Creek, along with a diagram. Last entry on March 23, 1865. Loose cover and pages; lacking spine; paper covers with rubbed corners. ESTIMATE $400-600
